Erma Colt, 94 years old of Brocton, New York passed away after a short illness late Saturday morning on April 15, 2017 at Westfield Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Erma was born in Alverda, Pennsylvania on July 12, 1922 to the late Maurice and Eugenia Malengo Rivetti and she lived in Brocton for most of her life. She was employed at Fredonia Seed Company for many years and also worked with her husband Jim on their grape farm in Brocton. Erma worked for Al & Luther Dean farms of Portland New York, and also worked at one time for Buffalo Arms during World War II. She Belonged to the Brocton Senior Citizens, the former Brocton Fire Department, Sinclairville 76ers and volunteered for the Westfield Recreation Department and the Chautauqua Lake Snowmobile Club. Besides her family, Erma loved to crochet, knit, travel, play bingo, dance, shop and go camping.
She is survived by one daughter Sandra Terrill of Westfield, New York and two grandsons Nathan (Michele) Terrill of Fluvanna, New York & Matthew Terrill (Chad Adams) of Westfield, New York and one sister Josephine Winslow of Lake Isabella, California and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents Erma was predeceased by her husband Clyde (Jim) Colt who passed away on June 5, 2010 and whom Erma married in 1945 (64 years), two brothers Delio and Louis Rivetti and one sister Della Belkowski.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday April 22, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Morse Funeral Home, 51 Highland Ave. in Brocton, New York. Rev. David Watson will officiate. Interment will follow at the Portland Evergreen Cemetery. Friends are welcome to call at the Morse Funeral Home on Friday April 21, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm and also from 10 to 11 am on Saturday morning, one hour prior to the start of the Funeral Service at 11 am.
