Linda L. Scott, 73, of East Main Street, Brocton, died Wednesday, March 12, 2017 at Absolute Care in Dunkirk with her loving family by her side.
Linda was born in Dunkirk on August 30, 1943, the daughter of the late Kenneth Smith and Anna Mae Richardson. Linda was a resident of Brocton her entire life and attended Brocton Central School, as well as, Cosmetology School in Buffalo. She was a waitress and a housekeeper for many years. Linda married the love of her life, the late, Lavern “Scotty” Scott on January 5, 1963. They made their home in Brocton. Linda was a member of the Home Bureau Ladies Group of Brocton for many years and a lifelong member of the Portland Congregational Church.
Linda had a deep love for all animals and enjoyed dancing, gardening, as well as, spending time with her family and friends. Linda loved walking and could be seen walking uptown to Brocton for many years. She appreciated the many rides her friends provided.
Survivors include her son, Dustin (Brandi) Scott and grandson, Xavier Myers of Brocton and a sister, Terri (Paul) Mundy of Fredonia, and Sister in law Carol Hussey. as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Linda was predeceased by her beloved husband, Scott, of 37 years, her brother Roger Smith and her sister, Cathy Ehmke.
Viewing will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2017 from 11:00 to 12:00 pm at the Portland Congregational Church in Portland, NY. Reverend Gordon Spiller and Joshua Ehmke will preside over the funeral service at 12:00 pm. A private interment will be immediately after the service with a luncheon at the church to follow. Flowers and plants will be gratefully accepted.
