Randy Wright, age 63 of Portland, passed away Thursday evening, December 7, 2017 at Brooks Hospital after a sudden illness. He was born September 9, 1954 in Dunkirk, the son of the late Leroy and Mary Darling Wright, and a resident of this area his entire life. He served in the U.S. Navy. He was a Stock Clerk for SUNY at Fredonia.
He was a NASCAR fan and his favorite driver was Dale Ehrnhardt Jr., and he also enjoyed Stock Car racing.
Surviving are his wife Kathy Beers Wright of Portland, 1 son Kevin Wright of Cassadaga and 2 daughters; Vicki Wright and Tammy Wright both of Alabama. Three stepchildren: Maureen (Brandon) Presto of Westfield, Mathew (Sara Ross) Alexander, and Larry Alexander, both of Brocton. He is further survived by 3 brothers: Richard (Gloria) Wright of Pennsylvania, Roger (Mary) Wright and Leroy (SallyJo) Wright both of Fredonia. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter Amber Wright, granddaughter Brianna Wright and stepson Shane Alexander.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday morning from the Morse Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Morrison officiating. Interment will follow in Portland Evergreen Cemetery. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Sunday from 3 to 7 p.m.
