Jack Gordon Smith, age 85, of Brocton, passed away Monday, February 23, 2015 at the Chautauqua Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Jack was born October 1, 1929, the son of the late Beatrice Cross and Bly Smith. He was a graduate of Brocton Central High School, class of 1947.
Jack was a United States Navy veteran and a 65 year member of the American Legion Post 434 in Brocton, New York. He was also a member of the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craft workers since 1966.
Jack is survived by four children Michael Smith (Patricia) of Clintonville, NY, Wendy Raven of Goffstown, NH, Mindy Conlin of Gulfport, Florida and Jennifer David (Kevin) of Germantown, MD. Jack also leaves 3 grandchildren, Courtney, Haley and Pay‑ton and 2 great grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister, Connie Phil‑lips of Fredonia, NY as well as several nieces and a nephew.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by 3 brothers and one sister, Bill Smith, Jerry Smith, Doug Smith and Patricia Norton.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Interment will be at the Portland Evergreen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials in his honor be made to The Brocton Emergency Squad, Lake Avenue, Brocton, NY 14716, Brocton American Legion Post 434, 110 Main St., Brocton, NY 14716 and the Portland Congregational Church, 8649 Church Street, Port‑land, NY 14769. Funeral arrangements were conduct‑ed by the Morse Funeral Home of Brocton, N.Y.
