Dennis Leroy Colt, 66 years old of Brocton, New York passed away after an extended illness Wednesday afternoon, October 14, 2015 at Hamot Medical Center in Erie, Pa. with his loving family at his side.
Dennis was born October 1, 1949 in Dunkirk New York and had been an area resident all of his life. He was a graduate of Brocton Central School. Dennis also served his country in the United States Air Force from 1968 to 1971 and served during the Vietnam War from 1969 to 1970. He worked until his retirement as the Plant Maintenance Supervisor at Lakeview Correctional Facility of Brocton, New York. Besides his family, Dennis loved NASCAR racing and also loved traveling, having gone cross country many times during his life. He also greatly enjoyed Motorcycles.. He was a member of The American Legion John W Dill Post 434 of Brocton, New York and The Moose Club of Dunkirk, New York.
Dennis is survived by his wife of 47 years Gloria, two sons Dennis Colt Jr. of Brocton, New York and Bryan (Abby) Colt of Brocton, New York, one grandson Brody Colt. His parents Roy (Marion) Colt of Stockton, New York and his mother Thelma Noble of Dunkirk, New York, one sister Carol (Molly) Colt of Shippenville, Pa and two nieces.
He was predeceased by his stepfather Jay Noble.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, October 19 at 11 am from the Morse Funeral Home 51 Highland Ave. in Brocton, New York, Chaplin Fran Lus will officiate. Interment will follow at the Portland Evergreen Cemetery. Full Military Honors will be provided by The American Legion John W Dill Post 434 of Brocton, New York. Friends are invited to call at the Morse Funeral Home from 2-4 and 7-9 on Sunday October 18, 2015.
